Service Engineer vacancy

Job Profile: Service Engineer

The service engineer at Bewo Cutting Systems in Waalwijk is part of the Service Team and is responsible for providing service to automated sawing lines in the broadest sense of the term. This includes, amongst other things, troubleshooting, machine inspections, preventive maintenance, product training and, where necessary, support with the commissioning of installations.

Together with the service team, you will ensure that these machines continue to perform optimally following the commissioning of the automatic sawing lines.

The focus of the role is on the electrical and control systems of the installations; in addition, the service engineer is expected to assist customers with machine operation and process optimisation. In line with Bewo’s vision, we aim to take as much of the burden off the customer as possible when it comes to their challenges; within Bewo, this translates to going the extra mile to serve the customer well.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out service work independently, including the necessary preparation.
  • Drawing up service reports, including recommendations.
  • Identifying and diagnosing faults and rectifying them, either independently and/or with support from the service specialist.
  • When communicating with customers during on-site service work, you will be regarded as an ambassador for Bewo and act accordingly.
  • Making independent decisions to complete service work and ensure the system remains operational.
  • Providing user instructions and training.

We are looking for

  • MTS/MBO level of work and thinking
  • Educational background: mechatronics, electrical engineering, electronics or similar
  • Experience in troubleshooting Siemens S7 and TIA Portal on-site or via a modem connection.
  • Familiarity with electrical engineering (frequency converters, safety systems, encoders and servo systems). Knowledge of mechanics, pneumatics and hydraulics is an advantage.
  • Good command of Dutch and English. Knowledge of German or another language is an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel: you will spend around two-thirds of your time visiting customers, mainly within Europe, and you will be at home most weekends.
  • Flexibility and a willingness to work on-call shifts from time to time, whilst taking your personal circumstances into account.
  • Type: technical, creative, solution-oriented, strong interpersonal skills, service-oriented and able to work independently.

We offer

  • A dynamic organisation with a flat structure and quick decision-making processes
  • Good opportunities for development, both professionally and personally
  • Attractive terms of employment and a profit-sharing scheme.
  • Provision of a company car.
  • Company-provided laptop and mobile phone
  • Membership of the PMT pension fund and the Metal & Technology Collective Labour Agreement.
