Automation of the cutting process
The benefits of a fully automated cutting line are consistent and significant: productivity, quality and availability. This results in an excellent Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) score. As every project and situation requires a different approach, Bewo offers various levels of automation. This enables us to strike the right balance between investment and the need for process automation.
Level 1
Each line consists of an automated cutting unit with an automatic tube feed, an automatic saw and a discharge table. Most movements are controlled by servo motors. The operator can easily set up the machine and focus on the logistical tasks surrounding the cutting process.
Level 2
By combining different operations into a single production line, individual steps can be carried out fully automatically and in sequence. Intermediate steps such as deburring, washing or measuring profiles are then no longer necessary.
The number of steps required is reduced and quality is improved by eliminating human error.
Level 3
The ability to set up the line almost entirely automatically during a product changeover saves time and prevents errors. This allows the operator to focus on other tasks.
Often, a single operator operates several lines simultaneously, whilst achieving high production capacity on each line.
Level 3+
For fast and 100% length checks on your products. Each product is measured, and those falling outside the tolerances are sorted out separately. In addition, products can be marked or coded for full traceability.
Smart software makes it possible to streamline various orders. Jobs can be prepared directly from your ERP system.
Using a scanner linked to the cutting line, the correct order can be linked to the correct bundle via a barcode. Even tools can be fitted with a barcode to prevent errors in use. A label printer or laser marking system ensures that the product flow and traceability are guaranteed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which processes can be automated after cutting?
Among other things, Bewo can integrate deburring, cleaning, measuring, sorting, marking, bundling and packaging into a single automated production line.
Yes. Depending on the application, Bewo systems can operate autonomously for extended periods, thereby significantly increasing output per shift.
