Deburring
The metal tubes that undergo post-processing using Bewo’s cutting lines are found in numerous industries. In the automotive sector, for example, countless component parts are used, which is why post-processing is so important. Firstly, because length tolerance is a significant factor, and secondly, because the components must be marked. When deburring a metal product, the deburring machine uses two brushes at the end of the tube. In the chamfering process, a defined edge can be created after cutting. Here, length tolerance plays a particularly significant role. The tolerance can be specified with great precision.
The smartest solution for metal: chamfering or deburring with a finishing machine
During the finishing process, both ends of the metal tube are machined, and a choice can be made between deburring or chamfering. The process of metal deburring (also known as edge removal) primarily involves removing the sharp edges from a tube using a deburring brush. If the requirements for the end product are slightly more specific, chamfering is a logical choice. Chamfering is a defined finishing process. It is a slightly more expensive and slower process than deburring. Deburring can handle up to 7,000 products but is less precise. A major advantage of chamfering is therefore that the length tolerance can be determined very precisely. Finally, punching is one of the available post-processing options. Punching mainly involves creating holes or defined edges at the ends of the product for welding or anodising. Holes are made in the tube using a punching die.
